Buttermilk Channel (mostly) lived up to the hype
Erin and I had to postpone her birthday dinner yesterday due to last minute baby needs so we're headed to Buttermilk Channel in Carroll Gardens tonight to celebrate. How could you not get this?

Great end to a perfect day - dinner at Sheep Station with Erin and little Dean. They have a tasty salad special with fried calamari, feta cheese, kalamata olives, hearts of palm, cucumbers and chick peas, and I paired it with a Six Point Sweet Action.
I couldn't ask for anything more.

Picked a bunch of these up at Union Market in Park Slope. That place is overpriced but these were grown locally in Geneva, NY at Red Jacket Orchards so I feel good about that at least. So yummy.

Just saw this in my twitter feed.
Thanks to you, we just passed @cocacola as the largest brand on @Facebook. Become a fan here: http://facebook.com/starbucks
This is impressive and no doubt their free pastry promotion played a part. It's a simple idea that I see broken down into two parts:
a) people love anything free and they love free FOOD even more.
b) Starbucks' use of social media tools such as the sponsored event invitation in Facebook for their free pastry day are a terrific use of viral marketing. You see your friends "attending" so you decide to do it too.

At least, it worked for me.
